Carpet of the Haouz and the Atlantic plains

The region of Haouz and the Atlantic plains is located south of Casablanca and includes Marrakech, Chichaoua, Essaouira and Agadir. This vast plain brings together carpets from different Amazigh tribes. One finds there the carpets of the Haouz of Marrakech, the carpets of the Oulad Bousbaa of Chichaoua and the coastal carpets of which those of the tribe of Chiadma.

The Moroccan carpets of Chichaoua impress by their red madder. The red madder is extracted from the roots of a perennial plant called "Dyer's madder". This typical Chichaoua knotted carpet will enhance any interior decoration thanks to its bright red colour.
